SPORTS WORLD...

GOOD LUCK CROSS COUNTRY!  Today is truly a great day to be a comet!  Yesterday, your James Lick Cross Country team went up against 24 schools and finished very well.  The Boys Frosh/Soph team placed 6th overall – the best team performance of the day and tied with Mt. Pleasant for the overall championship in the West Valley League!  The Girls JV and Varsity B claim overall victory in the West Valley League, and Ana Tapia will qualify for CCS (that is unofficial as of now).  The Boys Varsity Team, captained by Eric Lopez, went on to crush Mt. Pleasant, Del Mar, Gunderson, San Jose, Branham, Lincoln, and Yerba Buena for the 2009 West Valley League Championships.  Yesterday we beat Mt. Pleasant by 33 points and Del Mar by 55 points and qualified for CCS.  This will continue our winning tradition of continuing on to CCS for our 26th year!  Great job, Mr. Porter and the entire Cross Country team!  We're very proud of you!

HOMECOMING GAME!  There's a reason why our halls are beautiful and we're dressing crazy every day this week!  It's all leading up to the big showdown on Friday night against San Jose High School!  JV action begins at 4:30pm.  Varsity kicks off at 7pm.

WRESTLING!  Official wrestling practice has begun. Practice starts at 3:30 in the wrestling room everyday. We are searching for girls to be part of the team, we have had several girls on the team in previous years who have done very well. Last year, our own Kayla Matsuda was a state champion respresenting James Lick. We are returning league champions and we want to repeat, so we need athletes who want to work hard and be part of  a winning tradition. If you have questions, see coach Jimenez in room P-1.

BOYS BASKETBALL:  Tryouts will be held tomorrow evening at 6pm in the gym.  If you have any questions, see Coach Jimenez or Coach Staden.
